ABOUT
US
Learn what Calvary Chapel Clayton is about, what we believe and our vision for our Church.

Calvary Chapel Clayton is a non-denominational Church focused on the inerrancy of the Bible and the expository teaching from Genesis to Revelation. We are in affiliation with the Calvary Chapel Movement, which began with Pastor Chuck Smith in the 1960's. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational Church, nor do we oppose denominations, only their over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
Coming into a new surrounding can sometimes be awkward, so we have put together this page to acquaint you with our Church and hopefully answer any questions you might have. To review our statement of faith, visit our What We Believe page.
I HAVE QUESTIONS
What Are The Service Times?
We have Sunday morning services at 9:00am and 11:00am. We have Children's Ministry (Calvary Kids: Nursery - 5th grade) during both services and Youth Ministry (6th - 12th grade) only at the 11:00am service.
We also have a Wednesday night service at 7:00pm. Children's Ministry (Calvary Kids: Nursery - 5th grade) and Youth Ministry (6th - 12th grade) during service.
How Do I Check My Children In?
We have a safe and secure environment for our children to enjoy a fun atmosphere for worship and learning. READ MORE.
What Do You Teach?
A primary distinctive of Calvary Chapel is the endeavor to declare to people the whole counsel of God. We are committed to the expositional (verse-by-verse) teaching of God’s Word. Simply put, we teach the Bible from Genesis to Revelation! READ MORE.
What Is Worship Like?
Our worship setting and style is contemporary, but not to exclude the more traditional style of worship which we believe to be rich in doctrine and sound theology. Typically, our worship time will be about twenty-five minutes prior to the teaching of the Word.
The Holy Spirit
At Calvary Chapel, we believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and we encourage their exercise, but always decently and in order, with an emphasis on the Word of God, which we look to as our primary rule of faith.
How Should I Dress?
The majority of those attending our services are dressed in jeans and t-shirts, while some may come in suits and ties.
What Is The Congregational Make-Up?
We have a combination of all ages, races, and dress. We are people who have come together regardless of background or social status with one common focus: Love for Jesus Christ and the desire to know Him more intimately. We focus on personal relationships with Jesus Christ through worship, prayer and teaching of the Word of God and fellowship.
Do I Need To Become A Member?
We do not have a process of "church membership” at Calvary Chapel. We believe that every true born-again-believer has the Holy Spirit living and active in their lives, and it is the presence of the Holy Spirit that places you in the body of Christ, and makes us all members of the church universal. Simply put: If you are a born-again Christian and you regularly attend Calvary Chapel, you are a member!
As Pastor, I would like to welcome you to Calvary Chapel Clayton, and I am looking forward to worshiping and serving the Lord with you as we wait for the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ!
Are You Affiliated With Calvary Chapel?
Although affiliated with the "Calvary Chapel Movement", Calvary Chapel of Clayton is modeled after Acts 2:42, which reads, "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." This verse highlights 4 essential practices of the early church which are, and will be, vital to any congregation or individual believer until the Lord comes back. We've seen this simple focus continue to bless us as we worship together and minister to one another daily.
