What is the school of ministry?

The School of Ministry (SOM) will be a 12-week, 2 part, Biblical Training Course focusing on Discipleship, Practical Ministry Experience and Leadership Development. This year we will offer the first of two 12-week courses which will consist of 1 hour of Class and 1 hour of Serving per week.

The purpose of the SOM is to strengthen the spiritual foundation of our Church, to unite us in the call and mission that God has for our Church and to prepare us for the next season God has for us.

Where do I register for the som?

Registration is closed.

Who is the som for?

The School of Ministry is everyone who attends our Church ages 16 years and older. Whether you have been saved for 50+ years or 1 day, whether you've been serving for 50+ years or you've never served once. This is an opportunity for everyone to grow.

Why should i take the som?

You may be thinking that you're not ready and some of the stuff will be over your head- it won't be. This will be perfect for you. Or, you may be thinking that you already know the Bible and serve in Ministry so the SOM won't benefit you- that's not true. This will be perfect for you.

"As a Pastor, I must continue to grow and learn as a leader and Bible teacher in order to effectively minister to those whom God brings to our Church and those who serve with me in the Ministry. The day we stop growing, or stop learning, is the day we are no longer useful or productive for the Lord." -Pastor Kevin Edwards

som Requirements for a certificate:

  1. Regularly attend Calvary Chapel Clayton or an affiliate Church.

  2. Volunteer in Ministry, Outreach and Missions.

  3. Complete 24 hours of Class Work.

  4. Complete 76 hours of Ministry (must include 1 outreach and 1 missions project).

when and where is the som?

We will offer our classes every week starting the first week in August. Classes will be held every Thursday night from 7-8pm and every Saturday morning from 9-10am. The same class will be taught Thursday and Saturday- you only need to attend one these per week. This allows, if work or home life interferes with your schedule, that you are able to make either one of the classes.

The proceeding weeks will start with a new Study focus. There will be 12 weeks of classes allowing us to study 12 Biblical foundations.

The classes will be held at Calvary Chapel Clayton in the Youth Room. The address is 510 West Main Street, Clayton, NC 27520.
