History of Calvary Chapel Clayton

Calvary Chapel Clayton originated as a weekly Thursday night Bible study starting February 21, 2008 with a strong emphasis on expositional, verse-by-verse teaching of the Bible. Since then, the church has expanded, offering numerous outreaches and ministries that serve many people on a weekly basis.

Pastor Kevin currently teaches the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services. He is dedicated to discipling and mentoring other men and leaders, as well as guiding the church in missions and outreach efforts. His work significantly influences the spiritual lives of many.

With over 15 years in ministry, Pastor Kevin has devoted himself to serving God. The desire of Kevin’s heart is to see his congregation grow spiritually and to spread the message of Jesus Christ in the town of Clayton, across the nation, and globally. Kevin diligently studies God's Word, prays for the Lord's direction and guidance for His church, and shows deep love and commitment to those God brings into his life, maintaining his efforts until the return of Christ.

Calvary Chapel has its historical roots in Costa Mesa, California. This non-denominational Christian church was established by Pastor Chuck Smith in 1965. Notably, during a two-year period in the mid-1970s, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa conducted over 8,000 baptisms and was pivotal in 20,000 people converting to the Christian faith. Pastor Chuck Smith is recognized as a key figure in what is today called "The Jesus Movement."
